Be Strong

Today I'm posting with the Design Team for Word Art Wednesday as we share the new scripture from 2 Timothy 2:1 in challenge 702-703.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Taylored Expressions, so be sure to enter your cards on the Word Art Wednesday challenge for your chance to win their prize!

For today's scripture I wanted to use a masculine image. I selected this cowboy silhouette die from my stash and die cut him with black cardstock.

For the background I used a thick watercolor paper and distressed oxides to mix various shades until I had a sunset background and a water/grassy area in the center.  Then I secured the die cut cowboy over that area.

The scripture from 2 Timothy is free on the challenge by simply right clicking and saving to your computer files.  I sized the verse down to fit my card space and used a Spellbinder die cut then mounted in the corner.

I matted with the coordinating plum cardstock and then secured to a black card base.  For the finishing touch I added a gold twine rope around the top fold and tied in a bow.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll be entering this card in the following challenges:

You're So Sweet

Today I'm sharing the card I made using a recent freebie from Di's Digi Designs.  Isn't she the cutest little fairy and available free on Di's Facebook page.

I 've colored her with Copic markers and used the Spellbinders Fluted Classic Rectangle die set for the decorative edges on the image and the purple floral matting. The sentiment was computer generated and raised with foam after inking the edges.  I added the three enamel dots randomly and clear Wink of Stella on her wings, then finished the card with the peach organza ribbon and bow at the top fold.

Thank you Di Carubia for such a sweet free print for us to play with.  Now off to grab more of the new series from your Etsy store at DisDigiStamps

Praise the Lord

Due to a death in our family, I'm posting late for the Word Art Wednesday #700-701 Challenge. We have two sponsors ~ Seth Apter Designs and Gina K Designs

The scripture for this month is Psalm 150:6   I've used the Tufted Titmouse in Gina K DesignsSnow Birds package for my card.

After Copic coloring I used the die cut from the set, then lightly colored the white edge with Copic R000 to soften the image.

I lightly taped the background paper to a regular size paper and printed the selected scripture to show behind the bird.

Several stems of black grasses are secured to the background after I mounted it to the card base.  Next I added a layer of foam behind the bird for depth and secured him on top of the grasses.  To cover the bottom edge and complete the design, I added two rows of washi tape.  I really love how this one turned out.

I hope you will visit the Word Art Wednesday challenge to see the other Design Team cards and enter your cards there for a chance at one of the $25 sponsor prizes.

Celebrate Life!

Recently my friend Lynne celebrated a birthday and I'd like to share the card I made for her.  I selected the Bravest Lion from Angie Blom's Digital Designs and used a cloth 'Celebrate' tag along with a gold 'Life' embellishment.

As much as Lynne loves to water color beautiful flowers, you may wonder why I would select this image. But if you know Lynne and her daily life even from the surface, you would agree this courageous lion is perfect for this very strong, brave and faithful Christian woman of God.

I used Copic markers for the coloring of this bold image and then die cut the image and the golden dotted pattern matting with Whimsy Stamps Notched Stitched Square die set.  I used a 5 3/4" square card base and added the coordinating green background mat, then secured the two layers.  Next I added the 'Celebrate' tag on the left and the 'Life' embellishment on the bottom right corner.  To complete the design, I tied a matching ribbon at the left fold and knotted it at the center.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been working on today.  Stop in any time!

Sunshine of My Life

Today I'm posting with the Design Team for All Dressed Up Digital Stamps for the Challenge Blog.  For my card I've selected 'Growing Season' and added the 'Garden Wheel Barrow' to make this friendship card.

I started by adding the images into Photoshop Elements and sizing the girl for my design.  Then I reduced the Garden Wheel Barrow and flipped the image horizontally.  After printing I used Copic markers for all the coloring and then die cut the completed image with Gina Marie Designs Label 3 die set.  I also die cut the clouds and sun from the Pink & Main Rainbow die set and a yellow matting slightly larger than the completed image.

I used a 5 1/2" square top fold card base and secured a red floral patterned paper background to the base.  Next I added the card elements as shown in the photo making sure each layer was securely attached.  The sentiment was preprinted and in my stash.  I added foam to the back of the sentiment and secured it to the bottom right corner.  Lastly I added the light blue ribbon and bow at the top fold to complete the card design.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I've been making.  I hope you will pop over to the ADU Challenge Blog and see the other Design Team cards along with adding your ADU image cards to the challenge.

Birthday Wishes

This morning I'm here with the Design Team for the Classic Design Challenge Blog as we open the May/June Blog Challenge with Angie Blom Digital Designs as our sponsor.  Our challenge is Anything Goes with the option of 'Masculine' for this month.

The Design Team was given two designs to choose from from Angie Blom

Seas the Day, and Flowers & Birthday Wishes.

Although Masculine is the optional challenge, I selected the floral image from the Seas the Day package and the 'Birthday Wishes' sentiment

I used the redish pink shades for the flowers and dotted Swiss background papers and the minty blue-green shades for the dark leaves and shaded background.

After completing the Copic coloring, I used Gina Marie Designs,  Pierced Nested Labels to die cut the image and the background matting.  I used a coordinating mint green cardstock to make the left side fold card base and secured each layer as shown.  Lastly I added the coordinating ribbon at the fold with a tiny yellow star enamel dot to complete the design.

Thanks for stopping by to see today's card.  I hope you'll check out the Classic Design Challenge Blog to see the rest of the Design Team cards and enter your card also!

Blessed is She That Believed

Today we are opening the new Word Art Wednesday ~ Weeks #698-699, which focuses on the Bible scripture Luke 1 verse 45.  Remember you can get your free download copy of the scripture by visiting the WAW blog site and right clicking on the featured scripture.

Our sponsors for the challenge are Crafty Individuals and Really Reasonable Ribbons.  For my design Team card, I've  selected 'Flower Heads Two' from Crafty Individuals.

I used a digital copy of the flower image and enlarged the flowers to fill the top left corner and 'run off the page'.  Then I layered the selected scripture from Luke 1:45 close to the bottom leaf.

After printing, I used Copic markers for the coloring and then die cut using the delicate Nature's Garden Opulent Die.  I added the coordinating magenta mat to the A2 card base, then carefully secured the die cut colored image and frame.

I hope you'll visit the Word Art Wednesday blog to see the other Design Team cards and to enter your cards in the challenge too.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Is He

Today is the second posting of the Word Art Wednesday Challenge (696-697) for the month of April and I'd like to share my Design Team card with you.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Kat Scrappiness, and I've selected her Lola the Giraffe stamp for my card focal point.

Our selected scripture comes from Psalm 146:5 and you can get your free copy of this from the Word Art Wednesday Challenge (click Here).

I started by stamping the giraffe and printing the scripture just slightly smaller. After using Copic markers to color 'Lola' I die cut the image, the scripture and the animal print matting papers.

I also die cut the Hero Arts Thorn Tree & Fancy Grass out of brown and several random strips of 'grass' with a green patterned paper. Each layer was secured and assembled on the card base and patterned paper background mat as shown in the above photo, overlapping where necessary for depth and to be able to include everything.  Lastly I added the orange yarn at the fold and two copper leaves at the knot to complete my card design.

I hope you like this card and appreciate you stopping by.  Please check out the other Design Team cards on the Word Art Wednesday Challenge and enter your card too for the sponsor prize!

Better Days are on the Horizon

Today I'm posting with the All Dressed Up Digital Design Team as we bring you this month's new images again but from another part of the Design team.

I'm using 'Little Pirate' for my project card and here's my finished card.

I sized the image to about 3" x 4" and after printing then colored him with Copic markers.  When I trimmed the edges I hand cut around the telescope so that it could remain 'outside the box'.

I used the Gina Marie Designs X-Stitched Rectangle dies for the polka-dotted cardstock and straight cut the other pieces, securing to the card base as shown in the photo.  The sentiment was generated on my computer and secured under the image to complete the card design.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you'll pop over to the All Dressed Up Challenge Blog and see the other Design Team cards too.  Be sure to enter your cards that are made using ADU images!
